Your iPhone has a secret button that you probably haven’t noticed yet, and it’s not where you’d expect it. This new button came with iOS 14, the latest software version of the iPhone, and it lets you do just about anything by tapping the Apple logo on the back of your phone.

This SECRET function is apparently called ‘Back tapping’. There’s a good chance you haven’t noticed this yet. To turn on this setting, open the ‘Settings’ app, select ‘Accessibility’ and then select ‘Touch’. Then scroll down to ‘Back Tap’.

In the ‘Back Tap’ menu you’ll be able to select what function occurs when you double tap the back of your phone, and when you triple tap the back of your phone.

Apple calls Back Tap “a simple and easy way to trigger convenient tasks for those with accessibility needs”. Back Tap could offer a huge amount of convenience for all users. To take a quick screenshot, or use a shortcut to convert an image type for example, can easily be done with a simple double or triple tap of the Apple logo.

A recent Instagram video has even gone viral, demonstrating how ‘Back Tap’ works, and people on social media are being mind-blown by this feature that many iPhone users didn’t know about.

And there you have it, the secret button on the back of your iPhone is no secret anymore.
